Kowloon

Kowloon is on the other side of the Victoria Harbor. Kowloon means "nine dragons" in Chinese. Temple Street is located in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. It is well known for its night market and the busiest flea market. You kind find fashionable apparel in here at a very low price. The temple street market open 2 pm everyday.
If you like to go clubbing, Tsim Sha Tsui is a place you need to go. There are over 100 clubs you can choose from in Tsim Sha Tsui. Tsim Sha tsui is also the heart of Kowloon. You can find major shopping malls within well-known brands stores in there.

Hong Kong Island

Hong Kong Island is an island in the souther part of Hong Kong. It gives the name of the SAR.Hong Kong Island is the heart of Hong Kong, the urban development is densely packed on the northern side along Victoria Harbor. Hong Kong Island is also known as its beautiful night view. "The Peak" is a must see place for tourists. The Peak offers the view of Hong Kong and Kowloon skylines. You can also find the most popular shopping mall in Hong Kong Island. Many shopping malls are located in Causeway Bay, Central ,and Admiralty. If you are looking for a place you want to spend a whole weekend under the sunshine, next to the shoreline, Stanley is a must go place for you.There's also a traditional Chinese restaurant that tourists should go. Lin Heung Tea House (蓮香樓) is a 70-years-old Chinese restaurant, one of the oldest Chinese restaurant exists in Hong Kong. You can expereince the traditional way of how people spend their whole weekend at the same time enjoying excellent "dim sum" (a wide range of light dishes served alonside Chinese Tea).

General Background




Hong Kong is located in East Asia, where Guangzhou, China is at north of Hong Kong separated by the Shenzhen River. Hong Kong was under United Kingdom's control from 1842 to 1997 as a colony. Therefore, Hong Kong's culture and lifestyle is totally different from China, which makes Hong Kong a place that have both western and traditional Chinese culture. Despite the fact that Hong Kong is only the size of New York City, it is one of the most densely populated city in the world with 7,008,900. In 1997, Hong Kong become a special administrative region, which means nominally Hong Kong is under China's control, but under the "One country, two systems." Hong Kong enjoys high degree of autonomy except defense and foreign affairs.
